Happy Chinese New Year!

We celebrated Chinese New Year which begins on January 28th, by listening to stories which explained the traditions and significance of some of the dishes. Students tried out chopsticks to eat a few Timbits to help us celebrate. Many creative techniques were observed!  Children listened to Chinese New Year music while painting paper to make Chinese lanterns which are carried around in festivals. Fun!

  1. Maddy came straight home, ate her after school snack with her chop sticks, then made about two dozen lanterns over the next week. They hang all around her play tent plus she taught her friend next door how to make them. She LOVED celebrating Chinese New Year!
