Fractions, Fractions, Fractions!
We are currently having fun with FRACTIONS in grade one! We have learned that fractions are the names we give to equal parts of a whole. We have been learning how to describe fractions using math words such as half, third, fourth/quarter, sixth, eighth, etc. Today we read the book 'Apple Fractions' by Jerry Pallotta. Then we divided apples into halves, thirds, fourths/quarters, sixths and eighths. We happily devoured our 'fractions of apples' after we were all done!
